Lesbian heiress died from diabetes complications
Casey Johnson, the Johnson & Johnson heiress and financee of Tila Tequila, died from diabetes complications, a coroner said yesterday.
Johnson, 30, was found dead at her Los Angeles home on January 4th.
Police initially believed she had died from natural cases and a coroner confirmed yesterday she died of diabetic ketoacidosis, a condition caused by low insulin and extremely high blood sugar.
Johnson had reportedly suffered from diabetes since childhood.
She had a history of drug abuse and was arrested in December for allegedly stealing from the house of her former girlfriend Jasmine Lennard.
Before she died, it was reported that she was engaged to actress and model Tila Nguyen, better known as Tila Tequila.
Johnson is survived by her daughter Ava, who she adopted from Kazakhstan in 2007. The child was at the centre of a custody battle between Johnson and her parents.
