Former ‘Nsync star, Lance Bass, has spoken out about a recent alleged incident during which Chris Brown called Frank Ocean a “faggot”, and said the R&B star should face jail as the “only way to” be rehabilitated.

Earlier this week, despite saying he would not press charges, Frank Ocean accused fellow singer Chris Brown of threatening to shoot him, after one of his entourage called him a “faggot”.

It was previously reported that bisexual R&B star, Frank Ocean would press charges against Chris Brown following an altercation at a recording studio in Los Angeles on Sunday 27 January.

In an interview with Celebuzz, the gay pop star turned radio host, slammed Chris Brown for using the homophobic slur.

He said: “Calling people faggot and that stuff – he may not even mean what he means, but it’s a derogatory term that people throw out there and without even knowing why they are saying it.

“But when it comes to Frank Ocean and knowing that he’s very out… it was definitely meant to hurt him. It’s never good to throw those words out there that mean so much.

“[Brown] should understand that being a black man himself. He should know that the F word is just like calling you the N word in a very derogatory way.”

He went on to suggest that the only way Chris Brown could be rehabilitated was to face jail time.

He said: “I think everyone can change, [and] I hope that he can change his tune,” he said. “[But] we have all seen he hasn’t rehabilitated himself whatsoever.

“There is obviously a problem there. Really, the only way to solve that is, you are going to have to go to jail. They are going to put you locked up for a long time for you to really learn a lesson.”

Mr Bass went on to comment on Mr Brown’s relationship with pop star Rihanna, and said their relationship, past and present, was “abusive”.

“I hope Rihanna understands what she is in,” he said. “I see it happen so many times in couples, where it’s like an abusive relationship and you don’t know it’s an abusive relationship.

“I know he’s just doing some dumb moves right now. I think he needs to take responsibility for it.

“I don’t know if it’s drugs and alcohol and that type of stuff, but I really hope he comes to think that he’s really making dumb decisions right now.”

Digital Spy reports that Chris Brown went to court again this week to face allegations that he had lied about completing 180 hours of community service he was handed down after assaulting Rihanna.

In 2010, Lance Bass admitted that he used to join in with teasing gay kids at school to hide his own sexuality.
