Duck Dynasty family: ‘We all learned a lot’ from homophobia controversy
The son and wife of Phil Robertson, US TV star who came under fire for homophobia recently, have both said they “learned a lot” from the ordeal.
Interviewed for the January issue of GQ, Robertson said he could not understand why a man would choose to sleep with another man, instead of a woman.
“There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying?” he said. “But hey, sin: it’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical”.
Willie Robetson, Phil’s son, said: “We’re ready to move on. I think we all learned a lot. We’re just ready to move on, and the family’s happy and ready to go.”
“I’m just glad the family’s all together,” added Phil’s wife, Korie. “The best thing about (“Duck Dynasty”) is we get to do it together as a family, and the fact we get to continue to do that? We’re all happy happy happy!”
“We just try to stick together, have fun, laugh at ourselves, forgive each other,” she continued. “Hopefully, we can spread that message, and I think as a country, if we come back to that a little bit, maybe we’ll have a great 2014.”
Willie insisted that there were no hard feelings between A&E Network, which suspended Phil, and that the family was just happy to be back at work.
