Tom Daley offered charity DJ gig at top London gay club
British diving Olympian Tom Daley has been offered a charity DJ gig at one of London’s best-known gay clubs.
Jeremy Joseph, owner of G-A-Y and Heaven, offered the DJ gig to Daley after he and Dustin Lance Black attended the club earlier in January, when the diving star asked to have a go on the decks.
Speaking to Heat magazine, Joseph said: “Tom’s manager called and said there was a group of them that wanted to come down. We started the night backstage and that’s where I thought he’d stay, but Tom really wanted to go out to the main floor. When he spotted the DJ, he decided that he wanted to have a go.
“It was really funny. I’ve offered him a night where he DJs for charity. He seemed like he was up for it.”
The pair were seen in attendance at G-A-Y at Heaven nightclub to see X Factor contestant Luke Friend perform.
Notably, he specifically chose not to use a label to describe his sexuality, but said it was “love at first sight”, when he met his boyfriend.
In an interview with Jonathan Ross shortly afterwards, Daley said he had decided not to reveal who he was dating because he did not want the attention to ruin it.
Daley has been hailed by many including Lady Gaga and Clare Balding (among many others), and has been accepted by his grandparents for the announcement.
He was also immortalised in Russian doll form, alongside Sir Elton John, Graham Norton, George Michael and Stephen Fry, in a charity auction.
G-A-Y did not wish to comment on the invitation.
