US: Two male strippers quarantined over Ebola fears
Two male strippers have voluntarily been quarantined, after they sat near a nurse infected with Ebola on a flight.
Adult entertainers Axl Goode and Taylor Cole were on a flight from Cleveland to Dallas, having attended an erotic novel convention.
However, the pair were sat near nurse Amber Vinson on the flight – who was revealed to have contracted the virus after she treated Liberian man Thomas Eric Duncan.
The pair have been put into a self-imposed quarantine, on the advice of the Centre for Disease Control, and have been instructed not to leave their house for three weeks.
They have also been told to keep three feet away from other people at all times, and are banned from travelling on planes or cruise ships.
The quarantine is not mandatory, but Goode told AP: “It doesn’t take an intelligent person to make a good decision.
“If a stripper can make a decision that’s more responsible than the CDC, then surely other people can make those decisions, too. It’s not rocket science.
“I had just come back from a book conference and while there I read on how Ebola affects the body and what it does when you contract the disease and how terrible it is.
“Currently it’s voluntary, but it will soon be mandatory in all probability that I will be quarantined to my living quarters.
“So certainly – a lot of fear, a lot of panic. It took a while for it to hit me. That was pretty scary.”
