Anderson Cooper undergoes emergency surgery
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has revealed that he was forced to undergo emergency surgery earlier in the week.
The US gay broadcaster tweeted that he had his appendix removed on Sunday at a New York hospital.
Cooper was sent home on Monday.
A source said that the news anchor thought he had food poisoning when he started to feel sick last week during his coverage of the Ferguson protests in Missouri, however when he returned to New York on Sunday his doctor told him that was not the case.
“He went from the airport to the doctor’s office and, after a quick exam, his doctor told Anderson that he needed to go to the ER right away,” the rep said. “I am very thankful for the efforts of my doctors and the doctors and nurses at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center,” Cooper told Page Six.
I’ll be back on air tomorrow. Had an appendicitis and had to have sudden surgery last night
