Rick Santorum still thinks homosexuality can be cured
Presidential wannabe Rick Santorum has refused to say whether he thinks homosexuality is a choice – but says it’s possible to leave the “gay lifestyle”.
The Republican politician and spray-tan enthusiast, who is one of 16 people running for the party’s Presidential nomination, was challenged by MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on his anti-gay views.
However, when she asked if he thinks people choose to be gay, he responded: “I’ve never answered that question, because I don’t really know the answer to that question.
“I suspect there’s all sorts of reasons people end up the way that they are… and I’ll leave it at that.”
When pushed, he continued: “There are people who are alive today, who identified themselves as gay and lesbian, and who no longer are. That’s true. I’ve met people in that case.
“Maybe in that case, they did [choose]. I do know people who have lived the gay lifestyle and no longer live it.”
Incredibly, he insisted: “I don’t spend a whole lot of time thinking about these things, to be very honest.”
Despite his claim that he “doesn’t spend a lot of time” thinking about homosexuality, Mr Santorum rallies against homosexuals on a constant basis.
