Will & Grace star Leslie Jordan ‘throws coffee’ at angry homophobe
Actor Leslie Jordan has been involved in an incident in Los Angeles, in which he allegedly threw cold coffee over a man for yelling homophobic slurs.
The 60-year-old is best known for his role on gay sitcom Will & Grace, playing Karen’s diminutive and ‘sexually ambiguous’ rival Beverley Leslie.
According to TMZ, Jordan was sitting in Starbucks on Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, when three men were asked to leave by the manager.
One of the men yelled “You will die f**king f*****” – at which point Leslie came over and challenged the men.
When the situation turned hostile, the gossip blog claims he “doused” the man “with his cold drink”.
LA County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene – but though three men were interviewed, no arrests were made and no crime recorded. A spokesperson told TMZ that the disturbance was documented as a “hate incident”.
Mr Jordan did not face any action for throwing his drink at the men.
Debra Messing, who played lead character Grace in the sitcom, recently confessed that she was sad the show ended when it did.
She said: “I guess I would change the fact that we stopped [the show] after eight years
“It was such a happy time, and we were all really exhausted by that point and it was the right thing to do at that time, but now obviously time has passed, and I watch the show with my son who laughs at it and I think it would’ve been really great to do it a few more years.”
