Caitlyn Jenner ‘lives in a bubble’ say trans friends (VIDEO)
The former Olympian’s friends have voiced their worries after the star expressed her conservative political views.
Jenner, 65 – who has been praised for using her recognition to help the trans community – is shown asking her friends about the challenges trans people face in a new clip from her TV show I am Cait.
Discussing the biggest issues members of the trans community face, Jenner asks: “What’s the big issue?”
“They’re homeless and unemployed, so it’s just going to take a lot more,” says one.
Another woman suggests focusing on entry-level jobs, “so that these girls have some alternative if they wanted.”
Jenner responds to their concerns by sharing her conservative views – leading to some raised eyebrows, reports the MailOnline.
“Don’t a lot of times they can make more not working with social programs than they actually can with an entry-level job,” she says.
“You don’t want people to get totally dependent on it. That’s when they get in trouble – ‘Why should I work? I got a few bucks, I got my room paid for.'” she adds.
Her friends are clearly unhappy with her arguments, with one saying that she is worried that Jenner’s life “in the bubble” prevents the reality television star from really understanding other trans people’s problems.
“Caitlyn has every right to be just as conservative as she choses, but many transgender men and women need social programs to survive, and that’s nothing to be ashamed of,” the friend states.
“If Cait’s going to be a spokesperson for the community, this is something she’s going to have to understand.”

The Republican party is known for its anti-LGBT rhetoric, with a number of the party’s Presidential contenders refusing to even recognise the trans community and the issues they continue to face.
Discussing the right of trans people to join the military, wannabe POTUS Mick Huckabee claimed, “Men are men, women are women. There’s a difference. The military should understand that.
“The military not designed to be a social club or some type of organisation where we help people feel better about themselves.”
He has also previously joked that he wishes he were transgender to spy on teenage girls.
And although fellow anti-LGBT candidate and spray-tan enthusiast Rick Santorum does not support Jenner’s transition, he has said he would happily accept her endorsement.
