The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest who was previously embroiled in a controversy for saying gay sex is “unnatural” has posed naked for a gay magazine.

Måns Zelmerlöw, who won the singing competition this year, posed for GT (Gay Times) magazine, and pledged his support for the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

He emerged as the winner of the notoriously camp contest in May, edging out Russia’s Polina Gagarina at the show in Vienna.

The singer caused controversy in Sweden in 2014 – after claiming that gay sex is unnatural on a celebrity cooking show.

Mr Zelmerlöw had stunned other guests into silence by calling homosexuality abnormal, claiming  “it isn’t equally natural for men to want to sleep with one another”.

However, the singer apologised extensively for his comments and worked with Swedish LGBT groups.

He is one of four cover stars for GT’s naked issue, alongside out gay rugby union player Sam Stanley, reality star and Celebrity Big Brother 2015 contestant Austin Armacost and American singer and star of RuPaul’s Drag Race Adore Delano.

The first English professional rugby union player to come out as gay, Sam Stanley, praised the sport as “open-minded” and “supportive”, after publicly came out as gay in August.

The naked issue features ten celebrities pledging their support to help beat prostate cancer, a disease that affects 1 in 8 men in the UK, especially those hitting 50 or with males relatives who have it. Black men are also at higher risk.

Måns Zelmerlöw said: “I have a friend who was treated for prostate cancer… although it affects men over 50, I think every man, no matter what age, should be aware of the symptoms but I don’t think everyone is. The naked shoot was fantastic, and I feel proud that I can shine a light on the fantastic work of Prostate Cancer UK.”

Sam Stanley said: “It’s hard to see anyone go through it, but when it’s someone close to home, it’s tough. And you never know – sometime down the line, it might be a charity that I need help from, too.”
