Republican lawmaker claims Caitlyn Jenner needs to be exorcised
A Republican state congressman has claimed that Caitlyn Jenner needs to be exorcised of her transgender ‘demons’.
Gordon Klingenschmitt, who sits for the Republican Party, sits in the Colorado House of Representatives.
He made the claim on religious radio show Pray in Jesus’ Name when discussing tabloid gossip that Ms Jenner – a prominent Republican herself – plans to de-transition and live as a man.
Klingenschmitt said: “The spirit of insanity is inside of this man, Bruce Jenner… he was a national hero, God bless him.
“But for him to have made the left turn at sin has brought him down a path of destruction.
“Gender dysphoria is listed as a mental illness… of course, we think it is a demonic illness. The man needs an exorcism.”
He claimed that transitioning is “self mutilation” that will be followed by “self murder”.
In a ‘prayer’ for Jenner, he called on God to “manifest inside this man” and “turn him away from sin, detransition from evil and from sin and from the devil.”
The Republican added: “We rebuke that demonic spirit of delusion to come out of him in Jesus’ name.”
He also mocked Jenner, adding: “It would be a dumb statement for someone to try to say that he wants to stay a woman because he’s not a woman. He’s never been one.
“His DNA has never changed. He still has male XY chromosomes. He is not a woman, he is a man. In fact, he still has male parts, I’m told.”
Klingenschmitt recently claimed that gay people will soon demand the right to have sex in the houses of good honest Christians.
A disgraced former Navy chaplain, the lawmaker has a history of making hate-filled anti-gay comments.
He previously claimed that gay soldiers cause problems in the military by “taking breaks on the combat field to change diapers”, because their “treacherous sin” means they “lose control of their bowels”.
He also claimed that “liberals demand public access to rape your girls” by allowing “transgenders” to use female toilets.
The politician previously claimed that gay people deserve homophobic discrimination.
He said: “If your heart is full of corruption or sin or immorality – in this case, homosexuality – then you should be discriminated against.”
