‘Ocean’s Eight’ is in the works and it has an all-female cast
An all-female cast of thieves will take to the big screen in Ocean’s Eight, it has been announced.
Following on from the Ghostbusters reboot starring Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones, the new spinoff of Ocean’s will star some of Hollywoods most prominent actors.
Sources close to the production suggest that deals to get Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter will join Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway and Cate Blanchett for the Warner Bros flick.
The spinoff follows the Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen reboot which has seen success, grossing more than $1.1 billion worldwide.
Some suggest rapper Awkwafina will also join the cast, and the eighth member has not been unveiled.
The new film will be directed by Gary Ross, who also directed The Hunger Games.
The series i based on the 1960 film of the same name which starred Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
A release date is yet to be announced, but production will begin in October in New York.
