Gay couple receive death threats after showing support for Donald Trump
A gay couple who support Donald Trump have reportedly received death threats following an interview at a rally in Ohio.
Dewey Lainhart and Cody Moore were interviewed by the Wall Street Journal at a Trump rally in Cincinnati last week.
The clip from the short interview has since gone viral, and the couple have faced backlash from many in the LGBT community.
In the comments of the video, which has been seen over 200,000 times, Lainhart and Moore are called “rednecks” and “dumber than dirt,” and others commented that “poppers kill brain cells.”
In a follow up interview with Jason Bellini who filmed the original clip, the couple said that they have been asked to stay away from gay bars.
They also said they had received death threats from people who were angry at their political stance, with one person telling the couple to drink bleach.
Many have described the pair as “traitors to the gay community,” whilst some compared them to “Jews who support Hitler.”
In the original video, the couple explain that they’re voting for Trump because they hope he will increase employment.
Lainhart said: “I’m tired of the bullsh*t government, it’s time for change. Trump’s the man for it.”
His partner, Moore, added: “Plus I really feel like he would bring more jobs to the country.”
Despite the threats the couple aren’t intimidated, especially 31 year old Lainhart.
“It doesn’t concern me,” said Lainhart. “I look over my back, and I do carry a gun because I love the Second Amendment.”
The couple do not regret doing the interview, but admit it put a damper on the recent good news of their engagement.
A recent poll has shown that 75% of gay voters will vote for Clinton in the upcoming November election.

To attract support from evangelicals, Trump has claimed he would “consider” appointing ultra-conservative Supreme Court justices to repeal equal marriage, came out in favour of North Carolina’s anti-trans law, and his running mate Mike Pence has confirmed he would dismantle Barack Obama’s protections for LGBT people.
