Strictly star embroiled in another homophobia row
Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan has been accused of homophobia again.
Jordan, who was a professional dancer on the BBC dance show for eight years, is currently appearing on Celebrity Big Brother.
He was caught up in a row last night after he appeared to use a homophobic jibe against out TV star Austin Armacost.
Arguing with Armacost, Jordan shouted: “Don’t start because you don’t want me to hurt you. If you want to start playing with the rough boys you’re going to get hurt.
“You’re used to playing with little soft boys. Don’t play with real boys.”
His description of Armacost as a “soft boy” has led to accusations of homophobia.
A CBB rep said: “Big Brother does not tolerate unacceptable language in the Big Brother House. Big Brother intervenes where necessary to remind housemates of this.”
It is not the first time Jordan has been accused of homophobia,
He previously spoke out repeatedly against same-sex dance couples on Strictly, attacking gay judge Craig Revel Horwood for suggesting the change.
Jordan said: “It doesn’t make me homophobic at all, it’s just something I feel very strongly about.
“It’s easy for Craig [Revel Horwood] to say he wants to see a same-sex couple.
“I think there’s a lot of people who would agree with me that they wouldn’t want to see two same-sex people dancing on the show.
“Why do we have to change something just to tick another box? I think there’s a lot of people in this country that would probably agree with me.
“Two men doing the sexy rumba with each other, I don’t think it would work.”
On another occasion he insisted: “I do not agree with men dancing with men.”
