Lea Delaria and Chelsea Fairless announced their break up in a hilariously weird way
Lea Delaria and Chelsea Fairless have announced their split just a week after they were supposed to get married.
The couple, who were together for four years, took to Instagram to share the news by posting a replica image of their engagement photo.
The weird, but wonderful, photo features Delaria and Fairless posing as David Gest and Liza Minelli next to Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor.
Alongside the photo Rozette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love’ plays in the background.
“Apparently this was an eerily prophetic choice of engagement photo as our relationship has since gone the way of David and Liza, with one small exception: our split is amicable,” Delaria wrote alongside the image.
“Please exclude us from the tragic and basic celebrity breakup narrative.
“We were happy together for four years and will remain in each other’s lives. In fact, we look forward to finding new ways to torture each other. We would like to thank our incredible friends and families for their love and support.”
OITNB star Samira Wiley recently spoke about her engagement to partner Lauren Morelli.
The couple were together for three years by the time Morelli proposed. The pair went on holiday to Palm Springs where Morelli surprised her, and Wiley couldn’t believe it.
“Lauren has been married before, so I wanted her to tell me she was ready, her to be the one to propose. I didn’t know she was as ready as she was. I was completely shocked,” explained Wiley.
“She was hyperventilating. I thought, Oh, this is not good. This has gone too far,” added Morelli. “She was very clear she’d wait for me to be ready, so to give her something I knew she wanted so much was incredible. It was the most magical day of my life.”
