Harry Styles: Gay rights are fundamental, not political (WATCH)
Former One Direction star Harry Styles has opened up on his views of LGBT rights.
The 23-year-old heartthrob revealed his views on gay rights during an interview on French television.
It comes as he promotes his first solo single, Sign of the Times.
The singer was originally asked about his views on the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
Harry refused to answer, however, saying he doesn’t like talking about politics.
That prompted the talk show host to ask where or not he is “in favour of equality of rights, men, women, gay people, straight people, that’s politics.”
Styles was much more to the point.
“That doesn’t feel like politics to me,” he said.
“Stuff like equality feels much more fundamental.
“I feel like everyone is equal. That doesn’t feel like politics to me.”
Appearing on the Graham Norton Show last week, he was asked about some of the many bizarre things written about him.
Everything from taking carrot cake to concerts, getting chlamydia off animals and, er, having a sexual relationship with former US president Barack Obama.
We don’t think it’s likely, either.
But that’s what was put to him when he appeared on UK chat show the Graham Norton Show.
Norton ran through a list of the most remarkable rumours about the popstar – to find out just what is true, and what really, really isn’t.
Judging by the newly solo singer’s reactions, we’re not entirely sure if the affair happened.
He responded: “I’m legally not allowed to say.”
Asked if he wants to see a photo of the former POTUS for reminder, he joked: “Don’t, it hurts!”

In other pop news, 90s group Steps have revealed lots in their showbiz comeback.
Fellow Steps member Claire, seemed surprised, too, as she swore he was in love with her.
Bananarama, from a decade earlier, are also set to return with a new tour, their first in 29 years.
