JK Rowling shuts down Trump fan on anniversary of Voldemort’s defeat
If you’re on Twitter, you should really know by now: take on J.K. Rowling, and prepare to be crushed.
Always.
And today, Rowling marked the nineteenth anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts in the best way possible: by taking down the supporter of a would-be autocrat.
The path towards destruction began on Saturday, at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Hasan Minhaj, a comedian on The Daily Show, hosted the event, where President Trump was conspicuous by his absence.
Despite the challenges facing journalists, Minhaj told the audience that “only in America can a first-generation Indian-American Muslim kid get on this stage and make fun of the president.”
In keeping with the rest of the evening, which emphasised the importance of maintaining and promoting freedom of speech, he added: “It’s a sign to the rest of the world”.
Minhaj said: “It’s this amazing tradition, that even the president is not beyond the reach of the First Amendment.”
Rowling tweeted this message of hope, commenting that Minhaj’s words “reminds us that POTUS is not the country.”
One Trump supporter, who has optimistically named themselves The Beat Boss, retweeted the Harry Potter author, adding a…geographically challenged comment.
“Actually POTUS RUNS our country, whether you like it or not,” he wrote.
“If you don’t, get the hell out & move to Mexico or Canada. Got it?”
Rowling, the first billionaire author, has won head-to-heads with Piers Morgan and thrown glorious amounts of shade at Trump and Vice President Mike Pence in the past.
The latest victim of her majestic tweets, a Trump fan who retweets racist memes, was no match.
Rowling shared the post, writing: “I’ll probably just keep living in Scotland.
“Thanks for the input, though.”
I'll probably just keep living in Scotland. Thanks for the input, though. https://t.co/8gEgSQ3ANw

The excellent response also encouraged fans to point out that the US’s neighbours might not be such bad prospects right now.
Thank you! ??❤️ https://t.co/mzx6rTk5aO— J.K. Rowling (@jk_rowling) May 2, 2017
@jk_rowling If this was ever the case, Canada would welcome you with open arms! But we're smart enough to know you don't live in America ?— E. (@LizzyElli) May 2, 2017
Rowling and other stars reacted to the fall of Milo Yiannopoulos after he lost his job at Breitbart News in February, after a damaging tape in which he discussed men who have sex with underage boys.
Piers Morgan earlier this year clashed with esteemed writer and everyday badass JK Rowling, and it’s fair to say she won.
Morgan later put his foot in it when he attacked himself during an ongoing Twitter argument with Harry Potter author JK Rowling.
