The Good Wife star Alan Cumming will be on The Graham Norton Show this month
The Good Wife star Alan Cumming has been announced as a guest on The Graham Norton Show later this month.
The theatre and screen actor, who received an OBE back in 2009, will talk about his new memoir You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams when he appears on the show on Friday, May 19 on BBC One at 10.35pm.
Also appearing that week are Nicole Kidman, currently promoting her Civil War drama The Beguiled, and musician Keith Urban, who just happens to be Kidman’s husband.
Singer-songwriter Sheryl Crow will also be making an appearance, singing her latest single ‘Be Myself’, the title track from her most recent studio album which was released in March.
Announced for Norton’s show on Friday, May 26 are comedian and writer David Walliams and actress Salma Hayek.
Cumming said back in 2014 that he has “always sort of felt I was bisexual” and “never had any shame” about his sexuality, but he added that the world still seems to struggle with people who aren’t gay or straight.
“There’s been kind of a fad where people think bisexual means, ‘He’s gay but just not comfortable with it yet’. Or you’re just, you know, a whore,” he said.

More recently, Cumming, who was married to actress Hilary Lyon from 1985 to 1993 before tying the knot with current husband Grant Shaffer in 2007, said that he was tired about talking about his bisexuality.
“I get a little tired of everything – if I was straight, you wouldn’t think that I should make references to the fact that I was straight, so it just feels a little bit double standard-y,” he said about writing his memoir.
“The whole bisexual thing keeps coming up, and I just think that, eventually, hopefully, we’ll all live in a world where we don’t talk about it as much and just get on with it.”
The actor has also commented in the past that in many parts of the world, being LBGT and out results in individuals being treated like second-class citizens.
“I live in the world. I’m very privileged person, but there are certain things I’m aware of in certain places I go to,” he said.
“If you’re a (gay) person living in this world, you still feel like you’re a second-class citizen. Because you absolutely are. You still don’t have the same rights.”
Before Cumming drops by, appearing on The Graham Norton Show this week are Guy Ritchie, Queer as Folk star Charlie Hunnam, Billie Piper, Jason Manford and Imelda May.
