Abby Wambach and Glennon Doyle Melton just announced they are married
Soccer star Abby Wambach and Christian marriage blogger Glennon Doyle Melton have announced that they just got married.
The couple announced they were together in November and earlier this year that they were engaged.
And now in two understated posts on Wambach’s Instagram, the couple have announced that they have tied the knot.
According to the posts, the pair tied the knot on 14 May 2017.
Melton is known for her 2014 New York Times bestseller ‘Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life’.
She also penned ‘Love Warrior’, published last year, which was featured on Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club.
Earlier in 2016, before she got with Wambach, Melton announced she was divorcing her husband of 14 years, Craig Melton.
To her some 645,000 Facebook followers, when announcing that she and Wambach were an item, Melton reiterated her position that same-sex marriage is not a sin.
She wrote: “They’re lucky kids, to be surrounded by so much love. We have family dinners together — all six of us — and Abby cooks. (She is an AMAZING chef because Jesus loves me). We go to the kids’ school parties together. We are a modern, beautiful family. Our children are loved. So loved. And because of all of that love, they are brave.”
Mattel last year unveiled a new Barbie design – dedicated to out football player Wambach.
Earlier this week Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons announced that he had married his long-term boyfriend.
He later shared some adorable snaps from the wedding.
Parsons’ co-stars spoke out after the wedding to say they are delighted.
