Drag Race star Sharon Needles recreates Kathy Griffin’s shocking Donald Trump beheading photo
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season Four winner Sharon Needles has recreated Kathy Griffin’s shocking beheading photo.
Griffin shocked America last week when she held the bloodied head of Donald Trump for a photo opportunity.
The graphic image caused an uproar, with prominent Trump critic Griffin being forced to apologise for the ‘stunt’ in a grovelling video.
The TV comic said the moment had probably destroyed her career – but that hasn’t put Sharon Needles off.
The drag star was performing in in Pittsburgh, USA, when she decided to recreate the shocking moment.
She reportedly put a Joan Rivers wig on a fake head, then covered it in blood.
“It’s kind of mind boggling the levels to this story,” Needles said.
“That a female comic in this day and age, who was a friend of Joan Rivers, and who was on Celebrity Apprentice with our president, is subjected to this type of abuse.
“I mean… if only Joan was still around.
“And the fact that we don’t hold our male politicians of the same standard as female comedians is shocking,”
One witness posted a video of the performance, writing: “Destroy censorship.”

Griffin herself has claimed President Trump is bullying her since the stunt.
Ms Griffin admitted the photoshoot “crossed the line”, but says the abuse in response has gone too far.
She has now spoken out over the row, labelling the 45th president a “bully”.
“I am not afraid of Donald Trump.
“He is a bully,” she remarked of the controversy.
“A sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the first lady are personally trying to ruin my life forever,” she said.
“You guys know him, he’s not going to stop.”
Attorney Lisa Bloom added: “The message is clear: criticise the President, lose your job.”
Griffin has now been fired for the stunt by CNN.
