‘Ronbledore’ is the new Harry Potter theory that has blown our minds
A new theory about the Harry Potter franchise has been thought up by a fan and it has blown our minds.
Fan theories are always pieces of literary genius, but this new alternative narrative has really stepped up to the game.
Try and stick with us through the explanation, because it certainly has plot holes and is utterly ridiculous but it’s definitely a rollercoaster.
In short, the theory is that Ron (Harry Potter’s best friend and sidekick) is a younger Albus Dumbledore (the lovable Hogwarts headmaster who is gay).
Ronbledore. Potter’s two closest accomplices have become one.
The inconceivably weird theory suggests that Ron has actually travelled back in time using a Time Turner after living his life as Dumbledore and guiding Potter and his friends.
This theory relies on four key points. Firstly, the unsubstantial dialogue and contact between the two characters throughout the books.
This is something that is illuminated (get it?) when Rob lies about his “close” relationship to Dumbledore to receive the Deluminator.
“This was stretching the truth to a breaking point; as far as Harry knew, Ron and Dumbledore had never been alone together, and direct contact between them had been negligible,” the book states.
It is also based on that both Ron and Dumbledore looked similar in their youth with “long thin noses” and red hair.
The pair also have a scar in a similar place. Dumbledore’s left leg scar which looks like the London Underground symbol.
This fan explains that this scar could have come from when Ron got trapped in the Whomping Willow in the Prisoner of Azkaban film.
The theory, which has been called “false” by J.K. Rowling, has just one more piece of supporting evidence: Dumbledore seems to always know how things will work out.
Ronbledore is, of course, flawed, at best, as many fans have pointed out that Ron could have saved Fred, using a ‘Time Turner’ does not reverse age and finally, the timeline would’ve inevitably not been the same.
As Rowling said, it’s all “false” but we just can’t help but adore the wild theory.
