Piers Morgan just repeatedly asked Caitlyn Jenner about her genitals in a horrific interview
Piers Morgan has repeatedly asked Caitlyn Jenner about her genitals during a TV interview.
In a heated argument during filming for Morgan’s Life Stories show, the Good Morning Britain presenter repeatedly questioned Olympic gold medallist about her body.
Morgan has a history of making transphobic comments and attacks, despite insisting as recently as Tuesday: “I’m a big supporter of transgender rights.”
For instance, he sparked outrage when he called gender fluid people “absurd” earlier this year.
Earlier this week, Morgan received a much-needed education on how to be tolerant of non-binary people from Star Trek actor Sonequa Martin-Green.
But it seems the lesson didn’t stick, as he needled Jenner about the physical aspects of her transition.
“You were an all-American, 6ft 2in muscle-bound guy,” he told her, according to The Sun.
When you look at that guy, what do you think?”
Jenner responded sharply, trying to move the conversation along. “Good for him.
“There is a lot more to this story than just that.”
But of course, Morgan would not let it go.
“How does your physique compare now to what it did then?” he asked.
“Obviously, certain areas we know about…”
This was understandably too much for Jenner, who told him: “You made a comment there and that’s why you would get in trouble, okay?
“You said ‘certain areas’ – that, to a trans-person, is disrespectful.”
Despite telling Morgan to his face that he was being offensive, the TV host continued to ask about her body.
So Jenner shut him down.
“It’s not funny. It’s life. It’s a very serious part of my life,” she said.
“I take that very seriously and so out of respect to myself and the community, it’s not something that you joke about.”
Jenner added: “This is serious stuff. People die over these issues. It’s not a joke.”
Morgan ends the conversation by saying: “Point taken.”
Don’t hold your breath for a change in approach by the ITV host, though.
In September, Morgan lashed out at a genderfluid 21-year-old who he invited on the show, accusing them of being “confused”.
He flat-out denied Tabitha or Tate Downs-King’s identity to their face, telling them: “You can’t be male and female…you’re born one or the other.”
And earlier this year, the chat show host told trans non-binary couple Fox Fisher and Owl that their gender identities were “hypothetical”.
He also said non-binary children were “a contagion” and that “two or three” trans kids died from suicide last year.
A 2014 study found that 48 percent of trans people under 26 in Britain had attempted suicide.
He said that identifying as non-binary was “a massive new fad”.
Stonewall called him “bigoted and transphobic” after he made these comments, but this did nothing to stop him.
Despite having taken part in the charity’s Rainbow Laces campaign in the past, he responded by childishly calling Stonewall “bigoted & Piers-phobic”.
Morgan also ripped into Kori Doty, a non-binary parent battling to exclude new baby Searyl’s biological sex from their birth certificate.
“My number one pet hate at the moment is the absurd ‘gender fluid’ movement, driven by people who don’t wish to be defined as either male or female,” Morgan wrote.
When Doty was on GMB, Morgan asked them if they were “born male or female” and repeatedly badgered them about their genitals.
