Pitch Perfect 3 star Ruby Rose has revealed her celebrity crushes
Actress and activist Ruby Rose has revealed her celebrity crushes.
Earlier this year, Rose – who came out as a lesbian at age 12 – said that she felt “very confident” about her sexuality.
And she called that feeling “very empowering, strong and feminist”.
She has also spoken openly about being genderfluid, saying: “I definitely don’t identify as any gender.
“I’m not a guy; I don’t really feel like a woman, but obviously I was born one. So, I’m somewhere in the middle.”
The Pitch Perfect 3 star, who burst onto the scene in the US when she appeared in Orange is the New Black, carried on this theme by being open about her celebrity crushes.
She chose models Gigi and Bella Hadid, according to Contactmusic.com.
Rose explained that Gigi, 22, and Bella, 21, were “so stupidly beautiful and so stupidly nice.”
In an interview with SELF Magazine, Rose said: “When I was really young, my own understanding was that you had to be either a boy or a girl and I didn’t feel like I fit the mold of a girl.
She credited celebrities including Annie Lennox, David Bowie, Prince and Madonna for helping her to understand how her ideas about gender could be expanded.
The actress opened up earlier this year about saving for gender reassignment surgery when she was younger.
“All I wanted was a boy’s name growing up – Charlie, Billy, Max, Frankie,” said the star.
“You just know my mum wanted a girly-girl princess! Everyone had Barbies; I had Ninja Turtles and Superman. I was crazy about Archie comics. I played [football] with the boys.”
She added: “I’m a woman.
“I want to have babies one day, so I’m glad I didn’t make changes earlier in my life.”
Rose said that she wanted to be a role model, and to use her fame for good.
