RuPaul’s Drag Race star Adore Delano slapped with lawsuit in ongoing legal battle

Drag Race star Adore Delano has been slapped with a lawsuit by her former management company, Producer Entertainment Group (PEG), as the two continue to lock horns in an ongoing legal battle.
PEG has filed a suit that seeks $180,000 in owed back fees after Delano launched her own lawsuit against the company last year.

The season six runner-up attempted to sue PEG for $3.5 million as she claimed the company committed fraud and theft.
Delano, real name Danny Noriega, alleged that the company had stolen proceeds from her music.
According to TMZ, court filings said that she has earned $2.5 million in the past three years, but had only earned $300,000 from PEG.
She said that PEG and the record label, among others, worked to embezzle much of the revenue from records and “hundreds of concerts”.
Noreiga said he had found proof that PEG had mishandled the revenue, sometimes taking as much as 70 percent of his appearance fees as well as other amounts of money.

He also says that his management team threatened to “destroy his career” if he questioned his finances further.
Noreiga asked for $1 million in lost revenue and another $2.5 million to cover punitive damages.
Writing in a statement, PEG said that the lawsuit was “frivolous”.
“Producer Entertainment Group (PEG) remains under contract with Adore Delano (AKA Daniel Noriega).
“We are confident that this alleged suit, as PEG first became aware of it through a news agency and not formal service of process, will be found to be frivolous in nature.
“With respect to the allegations, they are categorically inaccurate in every regard, including Mr. Noriega’s income, expenses and PEG’s commissions.
“We maintain a professional, upstanding and successful relationship with our client roster and are dismayed by Mr. Noriega’s unfounded allegations.
“PEG would never take actions that are adverse to the careers of our artists and continues to work with Adore on existing business and engagements.”
The suit was dismissed by a judge who awarded no money to either party.
The company is now claiming that they are owed $180k because as per the contract they had with Delano they were supposed to receive 20 percent of the money she made from YouTube, march sales and live appearances.
They are claiming she has made $800,000 in march sales and a further $100,000 in YouTube revenue.
Drag Race has opened doors for numerous queens and enabled them to become household names.
Courtney Act, who was also a runner-up in season six of the show, is currently starring on Celebrity Big Brother.
The Australian queen is a favourite among fans of the British reality TV show and is expected to win the season.
She is in the house alongside a host of choice characters including bisexual actor Amanda Barrie, Ultra-conservative Ann Widdecombe and trans news presenter India Willoughby.
Willoughby and Courtney Act have found a steady friendship despite Willoughby’s “fear” of drag queens which stems from her belief that gender fluid people “cheapen” the transgender experience.
