Bob the Drag Queen will fill in for Katya on The Trixie & Katya Show
Bob the Drag Queen will be stepping in to fill Katya’s absence on the Trixie and Katya Show.
The season eight winner will take over for the second half of the show which airs on Viceland from February 28.
Trixie said in a statement: “For the second half of the season, we decided to get someone to make me look even more beautiful.”
“I am so excited to be guesting on The Trixie & Katya Show. I’m neither Trixie or Katya, but it is Black History Month so,” Bob added.
Katya decided to take a break from drag after revealing that she was struggling with her mental health.

Talking to her followers on an Instagram live stream, Katya explained that she was “tired” and “exhausted”.
She said: “My brain doesn’t work anymore, because of the drugs, because of all the gigs, I need to take vacations, like a normal person.
“I’m not dying, I want to live. I’m a drug addict, but I’m sober. Today, and yesterday. And before. But I need to take a vacation, because I want to survive, like Gloria Gaynor.”
The season seven runner-up has spoken about her struggles with mental health and drug addiction in the past.

Whilst participating in RuPaul’s podcast ‘What’s the T? With Michelle Visage’ in 2016, she revealed that after suffering a nervous breakdown during her sophomore year she used drugs to pull her through her depression.
During her time on season seven of RuPaul’s Drag Race Katya spoke about her anxiety openly.
During the time of filming, she was one year sober and was finding the process difficult.
However, it wasn’t until episode 11 and the Hello Kitty challenge that her anxiety really came to head and she suffered an onset panic attack that was never aired.
Despite returning for All-Stars two as the same loud, brash, Russian drag queen that we saw and loved in season seven her confidence had drastically improved and thus she made it to the final.
