A man from Sydney has been granted bail after allegedly raping a 13-year-old boy, who he met on Grindr, in the front garden of the teenager’s home, according to reports.

Moud Ul Hasan Nuri met the boy on the gay dating app on September 28, where they exchanged messages, personal details and images, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

The pair reportedly made plans to physically meet up, but the teenager then deleted the app later the same day.

Nuri allegedly drove to the boy’s home that evening, where he pushed the teenager to the ground in his front yard and sexually assaulted him, reports the Guardian.

After the boy’s mum ran outside to help him, the 40-year-old fled the scene in his car.

The teenager was taken to hospital for a check-up. Nuri was arrested by police on Sunday (September 30) at his home in Kellyville Ridge.

Nuri appeared in Penrith local court on Thursday (October 4), charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, reports the Guardian.

He was bailed on the conditions that he meets with police three times a week; hands over his passport; gives details about his mobile; and does not go near or contact the boy.

Grindr has a policy requiring its users to be aged 18 or above. However, it has previously been reported that teenage boys below the age of 18 have managed to access the app.

PinkNews has contacted Grindr for comment.
