Rylan Clark-Neal faces homophobic abuse on London street

This Morning presenter Rylan Clark-Neal has revealed he faced homophobic slurs on a London street.
The out-and-proud TV personality spoke about the incident, which took place on January 10 on Great Portland Street in central London.
Clark-Neal revealed that he was accosted by thugs who shouted “f**k off, you faggot” at him.
He delivered a withering put-down to the homophobes on Twitter.
The TV star quipped: “To the prick on Great Portland Street that just shouted ‘F**k Off You Faggot’ at me. When I shouted you what at you and you run away…. you run like phoebe in friends…”
Rylan Clark-Neal Fans flooded Twitter with messages of support
The message led to an outpouring of well-wishes towards the star, with hundreds of fans sending messages of support.
One wrote: “I can’t believe how bigoted some people still are. They really need to move on from their 18th century mindset.”
Another added: “I’m still so shocked people who not only hold these opinions but feel the need to openly abuse people with them, exist. F**ikng dinosaurs.”
Clark-Neal thanked fans for the messages.

He responded: “Didn’t expect that tweet to blow up. Thanks for all ur nice messages. I’m totally good tho.
“Sad but these things still do happen but just remember… Unless they paying your bills, pay them b****es no mind. Cheers u lot xx”
Rylan Clark-Neal made TV history co-hosting This Morning with his husband
Rylan Clark-Neal made TV history in 2016, when he co-hosted on This Morning with his husband, Dan Clark-Neal.
However, despite the pair’s popularity, Rylan recently said they would not be presenting together again.

He told OK Magazine in November 2018: “Absolutely not, no!
“I loved it, and we were really honoured to be the first same-sex couple to do that, but I love the fact my relationship is private.
“We’re working together on stuff, but Dan does bits behind the scenes.
“Everyone knows we’re married, but I don’t want to rub it in people’s faces.”
“You row, you laugh, you cry, it’s a normal relationship. It’s exactly what I want.”
London takes tough stance on homophobic hate crime
London has recently seen a renewed focus on tackling hate crime, with a large investment in an online hate crime hub.
Speaking to PinkNews previously, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “Let me be clear, hate crime will not be tolerated anywhere in London. In London, you are free to be whoever you are happy, and safe.
“London is a warm, inclusive and welcoming place, and I’m grateful for all of your support over the last 16 months, not for me, but for all of us.
“London is open to all people regardless of race, gender and sexuality and open to love.”
