RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 episode: Was this entire season rigged?
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 kills off Lady Bunny this week and invites the queens to pay homo-mage in a Ru-logy.
Did it slay, or was it dead on arrival? Find out below.
Drag Race All Stars 4 Episode 5 Roast in Peace: the verdict
How much Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent was episode 5 packing?
Overall: C.u.
This episode was 2-10 because it was not the one. I have trust issues after all those broken promises.
Challenge: C.U.
I’m hot for a roast challenge, but the queens were largely lukewarm. Only Monet killed at the funeral—Manila was funny, but she barely roasted the actual Bunny meat, instead focusing on the other queens.
Lewks: C.U.
Everyone was strong, but overall it lacked the ooh ah ah sensation of previous weeks. Monet was—again—the best, but even even her runway was a slightly less sickening version of Monique’s entrance look.
Drag Race All Stars 4 Episode 5: Unfair edit of the week
Manila’s talking head is giving me many complaints.
“Naomi has been really fading into the background.”
Yes, that’s what tends to happen when you’re edited out of every episode.
Manila and the producers are—yet again—taking full advantage of 20BiTeen to work together in a truly bi-partisan fashion.
They are shutting down—without a shutdown—Naomi’s sun, building a tighter wall around her C.U.N.T. than Manila’s menstrual pad.
Naomi, please for this one and only time listen to your president:
Drag Race All Stars 4 episode 5: the shade of it all
Winner winner, roast dinner
The roast contained shady shade and shade thrown by a translucent umbrella.
The roast you’d get from a bougie bistro on a crisp Sunday afternoon:
“She was often called the Beyonce of drag, not because she was rich or beautiful or famous. But because she was carrying twins.” – Monet
“Dearly beloved—and Michelle Visage.” – Manila
The queasy roast you’d see on Insta by a student having their first Christmas away from home:
“Doctors use a picture of her to solve Viagra users with v—to solve Viagra users with erections that last longer than 4 hours.” – Trinity
“Could you imagine being born in a time with no Nintendo 64?” – Naomi
Drag Race All Stars 4 episode 5: Winners and—well, Valentina
Alliances or a-lie-at-sis
Valentina tells everyone she meets that she’s a star. But it’s burning up fast.
Monique wanted her to go. Naomi probably wanted Valentina to go too. Tucking hell, even Trinity—who went above and beyond to get her on side—wanted her to channel Rosamund Pike and be gone, girl.
I wouldn’t bet my life, but I’d bet about a tenner—no small sum for a journalist I assure you—that Monet and Manila chose Valentina to sashay away.
But she’s still one fan’s favourite and can form an alliance with RuPaul Andre Charles herself.
Or maybe it was just a coincidence this was the week nobody went home.
Lip sync, lip sink, or split lip?
Split lip. Monet snatched that win but the format snatched it right back. If everyone is staying, we might as well make it look like two queens could leave for a few more seconds, right?
Gag of the season?
I need an actual reason to gag at the gag of the season. I’ve gagged more—wait, actually, never mind.
But don’t brag you have a drag gag if its just… nobody is going home.
Especially when the far greater gag would have been sending any of the bottom queens home.
I wasn’t gagged.
I might be next week, but for now my reflexes are fully functional.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4 episode 6: what will happen next week?
Was this entire season rigged?
Theory one:
OH BITCHHHHHHHHHHHH! Manila and Monet picking the bottom two and then who they pick will lip sync for their life? Pleaseeeeee I hate people in the top lip syncing #DragRace
— Phillip (@MajorPhilebrity) January 12, 2019
Theory two:

Theory three:
During an interview, Monet X Change was asked what it was like to lip sync against Latrice Royale—which never happened.
The interviewer meant what was it like to be in the bottom with Latrice.
But Monet replied “that was Monique.”
Monique has neither been in the bottom with Latrice, or lip synced against her—yet.
If this is a slip-up, it could mean the eliminated queens will lip sync against the one who sent them packing.
Latrice vs. Monique, Gia vs. Manila, Farrah vs. Valentina (!) and Jasmine vs. Trinity.
And Naomi vs. Monet, I guess. Or Stacey Lane Matthews.
If this actually is the set up—and I’d probably bet about £2 it is—it’s way too perfect to happen naturally.
It would also explain the biggest fail of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 4—the dodgy judging.
Drag Race All Stars 4 episode 5: A Queen-by-queen ru-view
We continue to map who is leading VH1’s fantasy league.
Manila Luzon: 750 points
Edit: comeback queen (see: Katya)
Oh she’s come back all the way to the top and it doesn’t look like she’s moving soon.
Trinity the Tuck: 583 points
Edit: the one to beat / lip sync assassin (see: Alaska, Ben DeLa Creme).
Probably the worst in the challenge this week, yet none of us thought she’d be leaving. That’s the power of a winning edit right there.
Monique Heart: 528 points
Edit: narrator (see: Trixie)
She should not have been in the bottom this week. That was a strong safe if ever I did see one. My fav is going above and beyond even my expectations, and I’m starting to let myself believe she could have a place in the top.
Monet X Change: 526 points
Edit: comeback queen (see: Katya)
Yes Monet! She got the full winners edit this episode which was lovely to see. Like Monique, she looks well placed to be a surprise spot in the top.
Valentina: 446 points
Edit: villain-lite (see: Milk)
Last week she was ‘kooky potential winner (see: Jinx)’ but that was one shady edit she received this week, which makes me think she’s back to square one. Putting Valentina’s confessional criticising Monique between clips of the audience howling at the latter’s set was very Milk’s edit.
Naomi Smalls: 233 points
Edit: Fan favourite that loses out on a top place (see: Alyssa, Chi Chi)
Yep. Gutted.
