Abbie Eaton, test driver on The Grand Tour Seasons 2 and 3, who is openly lesbian, has shared a photo of her kissing her girlfriend as the show faces homophobia claims.

Eaton appeared to defend The Grand Tour on Twitter after British singer Will Young accused hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond of peddling “f**king pathetic” homophobia.

Responding to the criticism, the racing driver uploaded a photo of her kissing her girlfriend on January 30.

Jeremy Clarkson comes under fire for comments about LGBT+ community on The Grand Tour

Singer Young, who co-hosts the Homo Sapiens podcast, criticised a January 27 episode of the show, during which Hammond implies Clarkson is gay for driving a Jeep Wrangler.

In the same episode, Clarkson asks whether LGBT stands for “lesbian, bacon, transgender.”

“Being gay is just SO funny for those type of straight men.”

Responding to the episode, Young posted on Twitter: “Being gay is just SO funny for those type of straight men.”

He added: “It’s f***ing pathetic and actually homophobic.

“And screw them and the show and Amazon (who by the way is a wonderful organisation I hope to forge a relationship with through LGBT content) for putting this shaming archaic tripe out.”

On February 1, Clarkson defended the show in his column in The Sun, claiming that he is not homophobic because he watches lesbian porn.

“Many gay people who’d seen the show said they couldn’t see a problem,” wrote Clarkson.

“None of my leftie friends could either. One even said I should tell him to stop being so gay.”

He added: “I will apologise to Will for causing him some upset and reassure him that I know I’m not homophobic as I very much enjoy watching lesbians on the internet.”
