Bisexual YouTuber Shane Dawson denies he had sex with his cat

Bisexual YouTube star Shane Dawson has publicly apologised for saying that he had sex with his cat in a podcast in 2015.
Dawson was the subject of online backlash after a clip from a 2015 podcast was unearthed in which Dawson claimed that he “humped” his cat.
In the clip, Dawson said: “The things I’ve done to my poor animals, they will never love me.”

He continued: “I did terrible things. I used to … one time I laid my cat down on her back … and moved her little chicken legs, you know, spread open or whatever, and I was like, ‘If I just hump on her tummy, that’s not weird, whatever.’ And I humped it, humped it, kept going, kept going, and came all over the cat.”
In the clip, Dawson said he was 19 years old at the time.

After the clip resurfaced, Dawson took to Twitter to apologise for the comments, and denied that the story was true.
“I didnt [sic] f**k my cat. I didnt cum on my cat. I didnt put my dick anywhere near my cat. Ive never done anything weird with my cats.
“ive [sic] apologized many times for all the dumb s**t ive said in videos and podcasts over the years. ive learned my lesson over and over again and im more confident now in my ability to be entertaining by just being myself and not being so shocking for laughs.”
He said the story “was fake” and was based on “a dumb awful sketch idea” that he had years ago – but never actually made.

YouTuber Garrett Watts came to Dawson’s defence on Twitter when the story gained traction, posting a statement which said that everybody makes mistakes.
“As someone who knows Shane intimately, I can tell you that the shock-style comedy of Shane’s past is the least interesting & least genuine side of him, and to see what he’s grown into, from what he used to be, has been truly incredible.”
He continued: “That particular story that Shane told was nothing more than an approach to SHOCK style comedy, and nothing more than a tasteless joke.”
Fans of Dawson voiced their support for the YouTube star, with one saying: “I’m so confused – what happened in the past is in the past, if people are giving you a hard time then they are the problem, not you. You are moving on and growing as a person and you don’t need people bringing up stuff that honestly doesn’t matter anymore. We love you!”

However, others were not impressed with Dawson’s comments about his cat and his apology.
One Twitter user simply said: “I’ve been seeing stuff about Shane Dawson and a cat and I don’t know what it’s all about but can he finally be cancelled.”

Dawson has been the subject of online backlash in the past for using blackface in YouTube skits.
In videos where he played characters such as Chris Brown and Wendy Williams, Dawson painted his face black.
In a video posted in 2014, Dawson apologised for his use of blackface, and said he wanted to make it a “learning experience.”
“So, this past few days, there’s been a lot going on on Twitter and Tumblr and a lot of other places that my mom doesn’t know how to find, and basically saying that I am racist.
“First of all, I’m not racist, but this video is not me defending myself or telling you why I’m not racist… it’s not that. This video is me apologising because I understand why some people think that.”

In 2015, Dawson came out as bisexual in a YouTube video, saying: “This is a really hard video to make. I’m really scared… I never thought I would be making this, ever. I woke up this morning and I just had to.
“I’m making this video because I feel like it could help a lot of people. Over the last year, I’ve been extremely sexually confused.
“I always wished that I was gay, that I was just 100 percent gay. It would be a lot easier to be accepted by people… but I’m not.
“I’m not completely gay, and I can’t sit here and say that I am… but I also can’t sit here and say that I’m straight.
“I’ve come to the conclusion, through therapy and through being honest with myself, I am bisexual.”
In the same video, Dawson opened up about having an eating disorder and his experience with depression.
