Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner says she loves ‘a soul, not a gender’

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner has alluded to her past same-sex experiences, and said she loves “a soul, not a gender.”
Turner made the comments in an interview with Rolling Stone where she spoke about being engaged to Joe Jonas.
“I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know. I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know—I’ve met enough girls to know,” she said.
She continued: “Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender.”

Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, has suggested in the past that she has had same-gender experiences—but has said that she does not want to label herself.
Speaking to Nylon in 2016, she said: “There is a label for everything now, which is okay, because some people need labels.
“I’ve never sat up and thought about my sexuality for hours. It’s like what Shailene Woodley said: ‘I fall in love with personalities and not people or genders.’
“Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender.”

“I have no problem with anyone who would want to be labelled, but I also think that it is no one’s business. Do what you want.”
In the interview with Rolling Stone, Turner also spoke about her mental health issues, saying she has been through therapy and is on medication.

“I feel so much better,” she said. “The fact that I spoke to someone changed my life.”

In another interview earlier this month, Turner revealed that she loves kissing her co-star Maisie Williams, who stars in Game of Thrones as her sister Arya Stark.
Turner also said that people often mistake her and Williams for a couple as they are so close in real life.
“Even though we are sisters [in Game of Thrones], we tried to sneak a kiss into every scene we did together to freak everyone out a bit.
“It kept them on their toes’ making sure they were following the script.”
Turner also said that she wants her character Sansa to be bisexual. She once said: “In the Game of Thrones universe, I think she’s going to have to swing the other way—because the men thing isn’t working for her.”
Asked who she would like Sansa to end up with, she replied: “Arya, because I’d like to see that happen. I’d love a love scene between Arya and Sansa.”
Season 8 of Game of Thrones will mark the show’s final outing, with the first episode set to air on 14 April.
