Gay couple ‘ordered to take down LGBT Pride flag’
A gay couple from Wisconsin have reportedly claimed they were asked to take down their LGBT+ Pride flag by their landlord.
Kevin Kollman has lived with his boyfriend in Country Oaks Apartments in Oak Creek for six years, reports NBC affiliate WBBH.
However, on Wednesday (March 27) the couple said they received a letter from the property owner ordering them to take down the LGBT+ Pride flag within five days.
The flag outside the couple’s apartment features rainbow stripes and the stars from the US national flag.

“This is who I am, this is who we are,” Kollman told WBBH.
“Personally, I feel like we’re being kind of singled out here because it’s what it is.”
The gay couple have said that they will continue to fly the flag outside their flat, and that they are considering taking legal action over the incident, according to WBBH.

The property owner, meanwhile, reportedly said he would not evict the pair over the flag.
The landlord also claimed that no tenants at the apartment block are allowed to put up flags.
Gay couple say they won’t take down LGBT+ Pride flag
However, in WBBH’s video of the news report, flags can be seen outside other flats at the property.
One resident told WBBH: “I’ve been here for three years, and I’ve had these flags up for at least two years and I’ve never had any issues with the flags.”

The incident comes after police in Egypt allegedly searched concertgoers for rainbow Pride flags before allowing them to enter Red Hot Chili Peppers concert outside the Pyramids of Giza, Cairo in mid-March.
Journalist Samer Al-Atrush tweeted, “Entering Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Cairo Pyramids. Police officer asks: ‘you have no flags?’ Asked what type of flags responds: ‘flag for the gays. Not allowed.’”
