Michelle Visage joins Strictly Come Dancing 2019 line-up
Strictly Come Dancing has announced RuPaul’s Drag Rage judge Michelle Visage as the latest contestant for its 2019 series.
The tables will turn on Visage as she sequins up and twirls for the judges in the latest series of the ballroom competition.
The BBC’s official Strictly Twitter account confirmed the news on Monday morning (August 5), writing: “She’s here to to slay the ballroom… Shantay
@michellvisage, queen of @rupaulsdragrace, you stay!”
The judge, actor and former Seduction singer has long been rumoured to appear on the series.
“Getting to do Strictly in my favourite place on Earth is an actual dream,” she said.
“I’m so excited to show that being 50 doesn’t mean life stops. Things may not work like they did when I was 20, but 50 also means fabulous.
“There are plenty of women like me out there who still got it and we still plan to use it, so slap on the sequins, point me to the dance floor and watch me Paso my Doble!”

Visage joins the already announced line-up of footballer David James, comedian Chris Ramsey, EastEnders star Emma Barton, YouTuber Saffron Barker, actress Catherine Tyldesley, BBC Breakfast‘s Mike Bushell, CBBC presenter Karim Zeroual and Viscountess Emma Weymouth.
Strictly will mark Visage’s second foray into British reality television, following her stint on Celebrity Big Brother in February 2015.
The judge has a long-running love affair with the UK, and recently completed a run in the hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
She will soon appear on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which the BBC let slip will begin in October.
RuPaul and Visage will reportedly judge a batch of 10 British drag queens, with Graham Norton and Alan Carr also set to appear on the panel.
They will be joined by a dazzling cast of guest judges including Spice Girl Geri Horner, Little Mix singer Jade Thirwall, Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams, Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield and model Twiggy.
Lorraine Kelly and Stacey Dooley will play the Snatch Game, with MNEK appearing as vocal coach.
Strictly dancer AJ Pritchard and his Love Island star brother Curtis will also join the show as dance experts.
