Church vandalised with Satanic imagery after protesting children’s drag queen event

A church in California has been vandalised after it its outspoken opposition to a children’s event known as Drag Queen Storytime event at a public library.
South Bay Pentecostal Church in Chula Vista was spray painted with the words “Lucifer” and “Satan”, as well as a pentagram, reportedly in the early hours of Sunday morning, September 8.
A pastor from the church, Amado Huizar, told ABC News: “The Chula Vista Public Library said [Drag Queen Storytime] is a reflection of our community. I beg to differ.
“If the people want to make that happen, do it at a private setting, at a book store or at a home, but not at the Chula Vista Public Library.”
He added: “I’m all about diversity. I am all about inclusiveness. When you do something like a drag queen story hour, you are excluding a segment of the populous who are not in favour of this.”

According to Gay San Diego, protests against Drag Queen Storytime event were led by senior pastor at the church, Art Hodges, along with other local churches and anti-gay rights organisation MassResistance.
MassResistance describes itself as providing “the information and guidance people need to confront assaults on the traditional family, school children, and the moral foundation of society”, and has published a book called The Health Hazards of Homosexuality.
The Southern Poverty Law Center defines MassResistance as a hate group.
According to ABC News, police are investigating the incident as a hate crime.
Last month, a church in New Mexico was vandalised six times in two weeks for being “radically inclusive” and welcoming LGBT+ people into its congregation.
