Oil rig worker sues boss for sending nudes and saying he’ll ‘turn him gay’

An oil rig worker from Queensland, Australia, is suing his former boss for alleged sexual harassment.
Cade Morrison is seeking $260,000 in damages from his former employer Harness Energy Services.
In papers filed in the Federal Circuit Court, he claimed that he was harassed by his ex-human resources manager, Vaughn Amete.

Morrison said that Amete would send him naked photos, including of his penis, in an attempt to “turn” him gay.
“I will turn you, I can turn anyone,” Amete said according to papers filed at the court, as reported by the Courier-Mail.
He also alleged that his boss said he would give him a pay rise if he dated him.
Morrison claimed that Amete instructed him to share a bed with him and told others that he was his partner.

At one point, Morrison’s boss allegedly emailed various inappropriate events to be added to his work calendar.
These included “movies and cuddles”, ‘date dinner” and “your dessert”.
I believe it’s important that all victims of sexual harassment, whether male or female, know their rights at work.
He said that he reported the alleged harassment to his former employer, but that the company failed to deal with effectively and so he contacted a lawyer.
In a statement to the Courier-Mail, Morrison explained: “I believe it’s important that all victims of sexual harassment, whether male or female, know their rights at work.
“By standing up for myself, I hope I can make a difference.”
He said that he suffered from social withdrawal because of the abuse and that the harassment was carried out over several months.
Harness Energy Services supplies workers and training for the oil and gas industry, particularly in the Asia Pacific.
The case is set to be heard in December.
