Vinegar Strokes reveals the original look she’d planned for her hometown runway and it’s sickening
Vinegar Strokes has revealed that the original look she had planned for her hometown runway look, and it’s a far cry from what we saw on the first episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
The first episode of the BBC Three series aired on Thursday night (October 3) and the new queens were asked to do two looks for the runway.
The first look was supposed to be inspired by the queen and the second inspired by the contestants’ hometowns.
Vinegar’s London hometown look, a sparkly top and leggings with a blue River Thames stuck on the front, disappointed judges.
Michelle Visage told her: “Once I figured out what that blue squiggle was, because I thought it was a snake, and then we figured out it was the River Thames… It just wasn’t specific enough to really tell the story for me.”
An equally disappointed Alan Carr said: “I just thought, with all the things in London, you go for the opening scene in EastEnders. You know what I mean?”
But Vinegar tweeted today to let fans know that wasn’t the look she had originally planned, writing: “The Hometown Queen look that never made the runway due to licensing!!”

The original look turns the queen into a human London Underground Victoria line, complete with blue hair dotted with an oyster card and miniature tube trains.
Her explanation likely means that the BBC blocked her look, which features Transport for London (TfL) insignia like her diamanté roundel earrings, because of its strict rules governing the adverts and advertisers.
While her look on the show landed her in the bottom two and having to lipsync for her life, fans on social media are saying that her planned look could have made her the winner of the first episode.
One wrote: “YOU WERE ROBBED! How dare they complain about your second outfit when this was your original idea!!!!”
Another said: “Oh girl you would not have been in the bottom two had you had this!! What a serve.”
