Move over Miss Vanjie: Scaredy Kat’s sashay away from Drag Race UK has become an iconic meme
Scaredy Kat might have sashayed away from Drag Race UK, but her parting words will live on forever.
The 20-year-old made history when she entered the werk room as both the youngest-ever contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race, and one of a small handful to identify as something other than a gay man.
Early on, Scaredy announced that she had a girlfriend – a bio queen named Pussy Kat – and that her sexuality isn’t based around a gender.
“I wouldn’t really call it bi,” she said. “I just go out with anyone I fall in love with really. But honestly, my sexuality is my girlfriend – I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else.”
After she was eliminated at the end of the second episode, Scaredy said that she was proud of her achievements.
“I think I’ve proven that, you know, you don’t have to be gay to do this,” she said.
Naturally, gay Twitter used Scaredy’s earnestness to send up the straights.

All in all it was quite the iconic night for Scaredy, who served up sixth form Amelia Earhart realness for the Bond girl runway.

But sadly, her performance in Downton Draggy was mauled by the judges, and she was forced to lip sync for the first time in her life.

After losing the lip sync to Northern Ireland’s Blu Hydrangea, Scaredy was told to sashay away.
Following her exit, she told the BBC that despite coming in ninth place, she’s happy with her contribution to the show.
“I’ve been getting messages from people saying, ‘I didn’t know I could do drag because I’m straight, because I’m bi, because I’m a woman,'” she said.
“And I said, ‘Are you crazy? Of course you can! So if I can be a little pioneer showing that anyone can do those things then oh my god, I’ll take that label any day.”
