Gay Twitter came to life this Halloween weekend with Wagatha Christie, Jasmine Masters and ‘woman yelling at a cat’
Wagatha Christie, Jasmine Masters and the “woman yelling at a cat” meme came to life this Halloween weekend.
With October 31 falling on a Thursday this year, the spooky gods have blessed us with two weekends to, in the immortal words of Jessica Lange, “do what gays do”.
Many decided to kick off their celebrations this past weekend, sharing their costumes on Twitter.

It’s generally accepted that there are two types of gay when it comes to dressing up for Halloween.

But thanks to the internet, we now have a third way: the meme come to life.
Having began life as two different viral posts – one of Taylor Armstrong from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills shouting and pointing at something just out of frame, and one of a cat which was posted on Tumblr with the caption: “he no like vegetals” – ‘woman yelling at a cat’ reached its ultimate form this weekend with Chris Palm’s inspired costume.

Another stunning example of this new genre was inspired by story of the year so far: Colleen Rooney’s transformation from footballer’s wife to Pulitzer-worthy investigator.
Film editor Katie Sinclair dressed as Rooney’s newly-bestowed alter ego, Wagatha Christie, with a Sherlock-style deerstalker, pipe and a poster with her world-altering reveal: “It’s…… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Comedian Michael Benjamin and his producer boyfriend Cameron Scheetz sent up a blogger whose unusual choice of baby name went viral in 2012 (and clearly shows no signs of stopping).

Less meme-worthy but undeniably adorable were the many young fans who dressed up as Elton John for Halloween.
