Nadine Coyle found her passport and is going into I’m A Celebrity – and gay Twitter has already lost it
Nadine Coyle has joined the line-up of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here 2019, and we can already tell it’s going to be iconic.
Coyle will join trans reality star Caitlyn Jenner, bisexual Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts and seven other celebrities in this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
The Girls Aloud singer says that she signed up for the show to be “pushed out of the comfort zone”.
“I used to be brave,” she said. “In the past, I’ve opened a restaurant, had a record label, had my daughter and it was go, go, go with all of these. Now I have got so fearful even being in the car, flying or general things. I think it is since I became a parent that I am much more afraid.”
Immediately, gay Twitter declared Coyle the queen of the jungle.

Coyle shot to fame in 2001 after a short-lived stint on Ireland’s Popstars, which she was kicked off of after it emerged she had lied about her date of birth.
The show’s minimum age requirement was 18, Coyle was just 16 at the time.
After giving producers the wrong date of birth, the singer gave an Oscar-worthy performance in which she claimed to have lost her passport, but eventually was forced to admit her deception.
A year later she was invited to audition for Britain’s Popstars: The Rivals, and eventually won a place in the winning group, Girls Aloud, along with Cheryl, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh.
Over a decade-long career the group became Britain’s foremost girl band, with five top 20 albums and four number one singles, though Coyle based herself in LA for much of their time together.
Since Girls Aloud disbanded in 2013, Coyle has spoken of a rift between her and her former bandmates.
“I was given more lines and the girls… didn’t like me as a result of it.” she told i.
“I’m not in touch with them… [but] I don’t look back and see any sadness to do with that time.”
Since the split Coyle has embarked on a solo career. She returned to Northern Ireland in 2015 after nine years of living in the US, and has since become a fixture at Pride events.
