Hilarious video imagines Le Fou, Elsa and all your queer Disney faves singing their way through quarantine

A YouTuber has reimagined your favourite queer Disney characters, rewriting songs from the films as self-isolation anthems.
Although Disney isn’t known for its out and proud LGBT+ representation, many characters have been interpreted as being part of the LGBT+ community.
Kurt Tocci created the video, titled “Disney characters in quarantine”, which has been viewed almost 400,000 times in just two days and contains some queer fan favourites.
Beauty and the Beast’s villain Gaston is the love interest of Le Fou, his manservant, in the live action remake.
The film’s director confirmed that Le Fou is gay and explored his sexuality in the film.
Director Bill Condon explained that Le Fou doesn’t know whether he wants to be Gaston or be with him.
“He’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realising that he has these feelings,” Condon said.
“It is a nice, exclusively gay moment in a Disney movie.”
Le Fou’s song about Gaston, in which he describes how strong and handsome he is, was reimagined by Tocci to explain how Gaston excels at self-isolation.
Le Fou sings: “No one cleans like Gaston, quarantines like Gaston, no one stops spreading COVID-19 like Gaston.”
Mulan’s Li Shang soon appears, to sing about social distancing.
Li Shang has long been considered a bisexual icon by queer Disney fans, as he falls in love with the titular heroine after she enters the army disguised as a man.
To the tune of ‘I’ll make a man out of you’ he belts out in the YouTube video: “Let’s all social distance, to defeat this one. Quarantine’s a bother, it is just no fun.”
He is quickly followed by Elsa from Frozen, one of the most prominent LGBT+ icons unwittingly created by Disney.
Elsa’s portion of the video explores restaurant closures, as she sings: “Don’t let friends in, keep things real clean, stay inside ’cause we’re under quarantine.
“Conceal, don’t feel, order to go. Get food to go.
“Just stay home, just stay home, can’t go outside anymore. Just stay home, just stay home, all your plans are now no more.
“It’s not fair, I had plans today. Turn your Netflix on, COVID needs to go away right away.”
