Little Mix recreated Come Dine with Me’s ‘what a sad little life Jane’ moment and honestly, it’s breathtaking

There is no meltdown aired to millions of people on television better than Peter Marsh on Come Dine with Me, and even pop band Little Mix have paid tribute to it.
In 2016, a meme was born when Marsh tumbled into fourth place on the Channel 4 show, prompting him to implode into a singularity of anger and utter the infamous line: “What a sad little life, Jane.”
Jade Thirlwall impersonated the iconic contestant’s descent in a TikTok video posted Tuesday, complete with fake belly under a denim shirt and frazzled brunette wig.

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall’s Come Dine with Me skit has housebound fans cackling.
The 27-year-old lip-synced to the Oxfordshire salesman’s rant which erupted after he read the results of the cooking contest aloud – he hadn’t one, rather, fellow contender Jane Smith did instead.
His bitter outburst, however, is best enjoyed in full:
Enjoy the money I hope it makes you happy. Dear Lord, what a sad little life, Jane. You ruined my night completely so you could have the money and I hope now you can spend it on lessons in grace and decorum. Because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.
Hang it in the Lourve, to be honest.
‘The f***ing wigs, best video you’ve ever done.’
In Thirlwall’s re-enactment of the scene, she not only takes on Marsh, but the three other contestants – Smith, Adam Mastroianni and Charlotte Jane Smith, Adam Mastroianni and Charlotte Hughes – as well.
Hughes timidly says she doesn’t quite get where the fury has been fanned from, to which Marsh responds: “Well, you wouldn’t, let’s be honest, there’s nobody in there, love.”
He ends his rant with: “Take your money and get off my property.”
The three baffled contestants then awkwardly clinking champagne outside Marsh’s home.
Little Mix bandmates Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson were in hysterics at Thirlwall’s impressions on Instagram.
Edwards wrote that it was “f***ing brilliant” while Nelson said: “The f***ing wigs, best video you’ve ever done.”
But, all in all, this entire moment of pop culture history was perfectly summarised by a Twitter user, who wrote: “There’s nowhere else for the pandemic to go after this.”
