Britney Spears has apparently taken a brief break from drafting her communist treatise, “Work, B***h: Essays on Labour and Material Worth in Capitalist America”, to drop new music.

Britney revived the concept of recycling on Thursday (May 28) by dropping her unreleased song “Mood Ring”. The single was previously a bonus track on the Japanese edition of her 2016 album, Glory.

She announced the track’s release using same arch-backed desert image of herself that recently became Glory’s new album cover, four years after its release.

And with the convergence of queer energies peaking with the coincided release of Lady Gaga’s Chromatica album Friday (May 29), it is truly a great day to be part of the LGBT+ community.

Britney Spears drops ‘Mood Ring’ and the mood? Happiness.

“Repurposed this since we didn’t use it…” Britney told her 24.4 million followers.

“You folks wanted a new album cover… ta da there you go!!!!

“What was requested next is out now… I hope you turn ‘Mood Ring’ up sooooooo loud!!!”

The post comes after eagle-eyed Twitter users spotted a since-deleted tweet from the pop queen, raving about the then-upcoming release.

“Omg!!” she tweeted, according to screenshots, “I’m so excited to announce my new single ‘Mood Ring’ out tonight!!

“You guys asked, I delivered. Can’t wait to share this with you all!!! And God Bless.”

It was a two-pronged present for fans.

The artwork for “Mood Ring” was originally shot in 2016 by photographer Dave LaCheppelle for the cover of the ninth studio album, but it was deemed “too sexy”.

Ever since fans have urged Britney to swap out Glory‘s artwork for LaCheppelle’s, and in early May, she finally delivered.

Moreover, “Mood Ring” was introduced as a Japanese exclusive but never saw an international release. But Britney decided to give it an official release date after Glory leapt back into the number one spot this year on May 3.

Britney Spears stans whipped into frenzy as singer releases once exclusive song.

As a result, fans imploded into singularities of joy.

“Mood Ring” isn’t the first time Britney Spears has recycled a single.

Famously, she released “Radar” as the fourth single from her 2008 album Circus, despite it having originated on her previous opus, Blackout.
