Queer workers explain why it’s so vital that employers are genuine allies

GVC, one of the world’s largest sports betting and gaming groups, explains why it’s dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for the LGBT+ members of its team, and why it’s delighted to be supporting PinkNews and Pride for All.
When we turn up to play at GVC we want everyone to bring their true, authentic self to the game.
We perform at our best when we’re free to express ourselves on the field of play. We value and cherish the importance of being your authentic self and celebrating the things that make you, well, you.
We also know that being your authentic self is not an easy thing for some of us, and that being out at Pride is a courageous act that we should all celebrate together.

It’s important we recognise there are communities and countries around the world who continue to oppress — and attempt to erase — LGBT+ identities with politics and violence.
As an expanding global organisation, we know we have our part to play to improve the lives of LGBT+ people whether they’re one of our players or our people.
Our philosophy? Diversity is being in the squad. Inclusion is when a team-mate passes you the ball. Belonging is knowing this is the team you want to play for. You’re not just a player. You’re a fan.

Our director of talent, Graeme Johnson, says the best thing about GVC is our culture.
“Down to earth, anti-corporate, sport, global, and incredibly successful – all things that get me out of bed and make it feel like a place I can be myself, and belong,” he explains.
