BBC tells homophobes incensed by Nicola Adam’s same-sex Strictly pairing to take several seats

Strictly Come Dancing is yet to even air, but the BBC is already receiving complaints about Olympic boxer Nicola Adams competing with a same-sex partner.
It was revealed earlier this month that lesbian boxer Nicola Adams would be the first celebrity to compete on the show with a same-sex partner.
But before the Olympian has even stepped onto the dance floor, complaints have been rolling in. Luckily, the BBC politely told homophobes to take a seat.
In a response to complaints, the broadcaster said in a statement: “Strictly Come Dancing is an inclusive show and is proud to have featured same sex dancing amongst the professional dancers in group numbers in previous series.
“We have stated, in the past, that we are open to the prospect of including same sex pairings between our celebrities and professional dancers, should the opportunity arise.
“Nicola Adams requested an all-female pairing, which we are happy to facilitate.
“The show is first and foremost about dance, the sex of each partner within a coupling should have no bearing on their routine.”
Strictly Come Dancing pros are desperate to dance with Nicola Adams.
Although her professional partner has not yet been announced, Strictly Come Dancing’s female pros are reportedly falling over themselves to dance with Nicola Adams, so convinced are they of her potential.
The female pros know that forming Strictly’s first same-sex partnership will thrust them into the spotlight like never before,” a source told The Sun.
“But they’re also thrilled by the fact Nicola is a sportswoman because she has the discipline and fitness to deliver a sensational performance.
“She will also have the strength to do lifts during routines, not to mention the fact that she has a sensational physique which will make those routines that little bit sexier.”
Strictly Come Dancing will return to screens on 12 October, 2020.
