Queer Eye star Karamo Brown teases he could be the first gay Bachelor after breaking up with boyfriend of 10 years
Queer Eye star Karamo Brown teased he could become the first gay contestant on The Bachelor after splitting with his boyfriend of 10 years.
Brown, who is a die-hard fan of the ABC series, told Us Weekly that he would be very open to the idea of becoming the eponymous Bachelor.
The 39-year-old questioned if there had ever been a gay bachelor and said: “We can go for it. Let’s try it. I would […] Why not?”.
Until recently the Queer Eye star had been in a relationship with fiancé Ian Jordan for a decade.
Now single for the first time in a decade, Brown joked that he has undergone a shock education.
“Let me tell you something, what I’ve learned right now — and I tweeted this the other day — is that dating is a mess.”
Single life is crazy… the direct messages I get. Like WTF. So, if you’re wondering – sending me Cardi B lyrics from WAP does not get my attention in a positive way. Love the song but I want to do NONE of the things they rap about in that song to you or anyone else. Lol pic.twitter.com/VhGS8dkVTV

Addressing the issue of unsolicited nudes, he continued: “Sending inappropriate pics is not a way to ever engage with someone. That’s not universal for ‘hello’.
“So if I could just get a whole bunch of great guys in one room just to, like, go through, sign me up.”
In September, Brown revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that after his wedding was pushed back due to COVID-19, the relationship fell apart.
“It was postponed because of the pandemic but now it’s actually postponed officially because my fiancé and I, we were together for 10 years, and we broke up about three and a half months ago,” he said.
“We were distracted by so much – with the kids, and our careers – that during that time, I had to really say, how is our communication? How are other parts of our lives? Are we growing in the same place?”
He continued: “We’re not 20 anymore, so it wasn’t just, ‘Oh, I’m not going to text you anymore’ – it was like, we have a family and a home. How do we separate this? And it was hard. We went to virtual counselling, we did a lot of things.
“But eventually I was like, this is a moment where I need to decide, is my happiness important? And once I made that decision, I said, you know, we are going to have to break up.”
