Mike Tyson grills rapper Boosie Badazz over vile transphobia – and somehow manages to make it much, much worse

Transphobic rapper Boosie Badazz has denied that he is gay after Mike Tyson grilled him on his horrific comments about Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s trans daughter.
Wade, a retired NBA player, and Union, an actor, have been vocally supportive and accepting of their teenage trans daughter Zaya since she came out.
For some unknown reason, Boosie Badazz has repeatedly made disturbing remarks about the couple’s teenage daughter, beginning in February when he said: “Don’t cut [her] f**king d**k off, Dwyane Wade.”
During an appearance on Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast on Saturday (24 October), the former boxer asked Badazz why he had chosen to make his transphobic comments about Zaya.
Mike Tyson questioned whether Boosie Badazz is secretly gay after he made shocking comments about Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s trans daughter.
“Why do you say things about people who might be homosexual?” Tyson asked, clearly misunderstanding that being trans is not the same thing as being gay.
“Why do you say that about them? Do you feel there’s a possibility that you’re a homosexual and by disrespecting them you further yourself from begin a homosexual?” he asked.
“I’m thinking you may like homosexuals.”
Badazz responded: “No, I’m straight as an arrow.”
“If you’re straight, then why do you offend people?” Tyson replied.
Badazz said: “I really commented on Dwyane Wade’s situation because I got offended because it’s a child. That’s why I really got offended, you know. If it was a motherf**king 19-year-old, 18-year-old, grown person, I probably wouldn’t have, I know I wouldn’t have said anything.”
The rapper went on to say that a child “can’t make that decision” about being trans, wrongly implying that being LGBT+ is a choice.
He went on to claim that Zaya’s family are going “too far” by using her correct pronouns.
Tyson responded: “I agree with you 100 per cent, me, I agree with you right, but check this out. Who the f**k am I to say anything? What I think don’t mean a motherf**king thing.”
Badazz closed out the discussion by saying that he “stands” behind his original transphobic comments about Zaya.
Luckily, Tyson and Badazz’s opinions about Zaya don’t really matter, because she has two loving parents who support her unconditionally.
The couple have been vocal in their support for their trans daughter, praising her as “wildly inspiring” in September when they were named as one of TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2020.
In a video released at the time, the couple said Zaya “has the freedom to be exactly who she is, who she was born to be, to be her most authentic self”.
“She doesn’t ask permission to exist. That is wildly inspiring.”
