Ryan Murphy has teased American Horror Stories, a new spin-off from the iconic American Horror Story.

The true AHS supreme shared a haunting first look at the new series, which he revealed will be “16 one hour stand alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore”.

“Many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love,” he said, sparking rampant speculation about – and among – the American Horror Story cast.

Dylan McDermott, best known as psychiatrist and tearful masturbator Ben Harmon in Murder House and Apocalypse, commented with a fire emoji.

“Gonna have some good stuff for you in this big daddy,” replied a seemingly horny Murphy.

He also revealed he’s writing a part for Cody Fern, who first appeared in Apocalypse as Michael Langdon and played Xavier in 1984.

American Horror Stories doesn’t have a release date.

Hulu has confirmed that it will stream American Horror Stories exclusively, but has not yet confirmed a release date.

Fans were naturally eager to learn more, with many asking whether Murphy will be able to lure back Jessica Lange.

The super-producer teased that Lange could make a return when he first announced the series in May, sharing a screenshot of a fake Zoom call with her as well as Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and others.

Though Lange hung up her AHS boots after Freak Show, she made a stunning return in Apocalypse as Constance Langdon.

Paulson and Peters are likely to be involved, given that they’ve had major roles in every AHS season apart from last year’s 1984. Both actors are making their return in the upcoming American Horror Story season 10.

Earlier this week Murphy teased the theme for the upcoming run of the main series, releasing a poster of a mouth with pointed fangs.

Fans are convinced they’ve nailed the theme – with many clues pointing to a season based at sea, around mermaids or, more likely, sirens.
