RuPaul’s Drag Race: Werq the World Tour, when is it, how to buy tickets and more
The second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK premiered on our screens this month and is keeping spirits high during lockdown.
If you’re a fan of the show, from the US to the UK version, and ever wondered if you can see your favourite drag stars all at once then you’re in luck.
This is because fan favourites from the Drag Race franchise are coming together to go on a huge arena tour across the UK later this year.
Entitled Werq the World Tour, it will see queens from the series perform for thousands of fans showcasing their talents in solo and group performances. The tour also has it’s own spin-off docu-series on Wow Presents Plus following the queens as they perform across the globe.
The tour is due to start in May, obviously depending on national and local restrictions regarding COVID-19. But if you need something to look forward to whether it takes place in May or later down the line we’ve got all the info you need to book your tickets.
You can find out everything you need to know about the Werq the World tour below including when, where and who.
Who’s on the Werq the World Tour?
The show will be presented by Drag Race judge Michelle Visage. She’ll introduce queens from across the UK, US and Canada editions of the hit reality series.
Currently confirmed for the tour is season 12 winner Jaida Essence Hall who won the crown last summer during a virtual finale. Jaida, alongside RuPaul, the judges and fellow contestants, all filmed from their homes due to the effects of COVID-19, which halted the usual finale in front of a live audience.
She performed a ‘close up’ lip sync to RuPaul’s “Bring Back My Girls”, then slayed a performance to “Get Up” by Ciara in her living room, and finally a lip sync battle to Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor” to snatch the crown from finalists Gigi Goode and Crystal Methyd.
Jaida will be joined by fan favourites Vanessa Vanjie, Asia O’Hara, Kameron Michaels and Plastique Tiara as well as season 11’s winner and fellow Drag Race hall of famer, Yvie Oddly
More names are expected to be announced for the tour in the coming months as the global tour has a rotating cast with previous performers including Aquaria, Violet Chachki, Naomi Smalls, Valentina, Kim Chi, Bob the Drag Queen and Detox on the Werq the World Tour.
