Horny thief steals £600 of sex toys – including a vegan bondage kit
It looks like lockdown lust grew too hard for one horny thief, who was spotted stealing £600 worth of sex toys from a Brighton shop.
Owners say a man “desperate for pleasure” was seen swiping a stash of toys last Tuesday (16 February) from Taboo, one of the city’s oldest sex shops.
CCTV footage shows the thief approaching the store with a camouflaged rucksack before picking up products that had been left for customer collection.
His boudoir bounty included an inflatable sex doll, vibrators, nipple clamps, sex aid, spanking paddle and even a vegan bondage bed restraint set. It’s been speculated that the man had hit rock bottom after being all pent up with nowhere to go.
“I would think the person is pretty desperate. I would think that they know exactly what was inside because it is really clear what the shop is,” owner Tim Richardson told the Argus.
“Maybe they just needed to get some sex toys. Desperate for some pleasure.”
It seems he’s taken pity on the lustful larcenist, as a spokesman for Sussex Police said there was no record of the crime being reported to the force.
Richardson runs Taboo and its nearby branch Lust with his son, daughter, ex-wife and current partner. The family business recently featured in its own TV show, A Very British Sex Shop, on Channel 4.
While many non-essential shops have ground to a halt during lockdown, the Richardsons have kept it up for as long as they can.
“We are trying to provide a local service to our customers as most of them are shielding and can’t get out,” they said. “This is the next best thing we can do for our customers and to try and keep our heads above water.
“The service itself has been really popular and we do a non-contact delivery service that puts a smile on their face and keeps us going as well.”
