Drag Race’s most iconic queens reunite for the most star-studded UK tour in herstory
A star studded lineup of RuPaul’s Drag Race queens is heading to the UK this summer as part of a brand new tour entitled ‘The Main Event‘.
The tour will see season six finalists Bianca Del Rio, Courtney Act and Adore Delano reunite for a sickening show.
They’ll be joined by fellow Drag Race alumni including All Stars season two winner Alaska, Willam Belli and Darienne Lake, as well as Irish-based queen Victoria Secret.
It will visit three cities across the UK in July with dates confirmed for Glasgow’s O2 Academy, Manchester’s O2 Apollo and at London’s Brixton Academy.
The tour, organised by Holy T, has been announced following the unveiling of prime minister Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of lockdown.
If all lockdown restrictions lift on 21 June, as suggested by the roadmap, then this means Drag Race fans will get to see some of their favourite queens live this summer.
The lineup will also see the reunion of ‘Latrila’ from All Stars season one as fan favourites Latrice Royale and Manila Luzon team up for the tour.
It’ll mark the first time many of these international queens have performed in the UK since the start of lockdown last year, which has impacted paid work for drag artists across the globe.
“It’s been a bit of a heartbreaker not being able to tour since March last year,” event organiser Paul McAvoy told the Manchester Evening News.
“I think a lot of people have missed that sense of interaction you get with concerts so we’re coming back with the biggest line-up ever to hit the UK in Drag Race history.
“We’ve also got plenty more surprises lined up,” he added.
More RuPaul’s Drag Race acts are expected to be announced in the coming months for The Main Event tour and you can find out how to get tickets and full tour dates below.
